Daily Prompt: Liminal

via Daily Prompt: Liminal

The feather kisses you gave me

are still wet on my cheeks,

the little frown that I wiped

from your face is still

imprinted on my hands,

the hugs you gave me are

lingering on my shoulders,

but, all of a sudden,

my tiny little child,

have grown big to shrug off

all these silly gestures of

now you stand as tall as me,

to dismiss all my concern with

a cool attitude,

let me wait patiently for

your liminal stage of  childhood

to adolescence pass

with an intrinsic understanding

essentially to a mother,

And see my little pupa emerge

itself into a beautiful butterfly

to fly with colourful wings.
